For Leaders

“STEP UP” to Life Group Ministry – Leader Section
“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding….” Colossians 1:9,10

Tip of the Month:
Develop a co-leader to help share the responsibility of your group and to prepare him or her for their own group. Are you aware that Bayside West Community has grown 40% since moving into our new facility? For your group to stay manageable, confidential and for real connection to take place you need to limit the size of your group to no more than 12-14 people. That means we need to be preparing qualified Life group members to be Life group leaders so our new Bayside West attenders can join a Life group and make connections. So what does a ”qualified” potential Life group leader look like? He or she would look just like you! That’s right, they have been watching you and therefore have been in training just by being in your group. The 2 major qualifications we look for in a Life group leader are; 1. they must be spiritually warm. That is, have a growing, on going relationship with Jesus Christ and; 2. they must be relationally warm. This means they must like people and people must like them. Spiritual maturity is not the top qualification. Remember, people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care. If you need help developing a co-leader within your group, please contact me so we can give you more techniques on “Raising up a Life group leader from the inside out”.

Periodically we will give you leader tips to help and support you.
